He has been practicing as an attorney in Indonesian litigation and business law for over 15 years. Before establishing this law firm he was practised as litigation lawyer in major law firms in Jakarta: at Juan Felix Tampubolon & Partners (a firm specialized in criminal and commercial litigations and general legal practices) and as partner at James Purba & Partners.

Efendy Purba has handled various high profile litigation cases. To mention a few, he represented the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (BPPN) in a bankruptcy case involving ING Barings South East Asia Limited and BPPN (as creditor); represented 11 foreign defendants (among others, Alliance Capital Management Co, Credit Suisse First Boston, Rothchild Asset Management and Euroclear) in a civil case before District Court of Serang (2003-2004) among PT. Tri Polyta Indonesia Tbk., against ninety-seven Defendants; represented PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk., in an anti-monopoly case before the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU); represented Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) in civil case (arising out of project construction dispute) before the Yogyakarta District Court; represented Astro’s consumers (a pay-television) in class action lawsuit between the Astro’s consumers against ASTRO All Asia Network Plc Ltd before the South Jakarta District Court and Surabaya District Court.

In bankruptcy cases, Effendy has been appointed as Liquidator for several bankruptcy cases, among others, as Liquidator of PT UNI Enlarge Indonesia, PT Panca Wiratama Sejahtera, Tbk., and PT Jaya Makmur Sejahtera. Beyond the litigation borders, he also handles bankruptcy cases, arbitration, labor, administrative, family, criminal law, and land and property matters.

Chandra graduated from George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA (1988) with a Bachelor in Science Civil Engineering (BSCE), and later he got his law degrees (SH and MH).
